The club recently contacted season ticket holders and Jack Army members to inform them loyalty points would be reset ahead of the 2023-24 season.
We are aware of concerns among supporters that this reset will negatively impact their ability to purchase tickets for the upcoming south Wales derby at Cardiff City on Saturday, September 16 (7.45pm).
We want to reassure supporters that tickets for this fixture will be allocated fairly with the aim of rewarding those who accrued points last season, whilst still affording the opportunity for others to purchase tickets.
While your loyalty points have been reset, previous attendance will be taken into account specifically for the Cardiff match.
To illustrate how this system will operate, we are able to share with you our planned sale windows for the south Wales derby which we have discussed with the Supporters' Trust. Full details will be confirmed shortly.
Window 1: Current season ticket holders who are Jack Army members and attended last season’s fixture at Cardiff.
Window 2: Jack Army members who attended last season’s fixture at Cardiff.
Window 3: All other current season ticket holders who are Jack Army members.
Window 4: All other Jack Army members.
Additionally, we want to provide further clarification regarding the decision to reset loyalty points ahead of the new campaign.
Historically, loyalty points were reset at the end of each season before this stopped at the end of the 2021-22 campaign.
Extensive work by our ticket office team uncovered several inconsistencies from previous years, which resulted in supporters being able to accrue loyalty points as the named account holder, whilst also being able to bring different people to games.
This meant supporters who might have only attended a handful of games were able to access tickets for high priority fixtures, such as the away game against Cardiff City.
For the trip to Cardiff back in April, some supporters could buy a Jack Army membership, rely on previous loyalty points, and thus purchase a ticket. The system meant that supporter was deemed higher priority than some season ticket holders, which we do not consider to be fair.
The club identified this inconsistency and updated the system accordingly, with accounts now being linked to family and friends.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your magnificent support as we look ahead to the rest of the 2023-24 season. |
